Welcome to the first post on this blog. I’m beginning by sifting through my archive—sharing a mix of images I’m proud of and others that simply mark the steps of learning. For this entry, the spotlight falls on spiders and the quiet, eerie beauty of their webs.

This little jumping spider paused just long enough to let the lens catch it—still, watchful, and unsettlingly aware.

Here’s a photo of a fading spiderweb—tattered, barely holding together, yet still catching the light with a last, fragile gleam.

What remained of the web—just the faintest traces, like something abandoned long ago.

Here’s the same photo as above—drenched in heavy color grading until it settled into a fall-tinged, quietly sinister mood.

An orbweaver lingering in the shadows, motionless and patient, waiting for whatever unfortunate thing wanders too close.

A close-up of the orbweaver—uncomfortably near. I’ll admit, trying to lock focus on him through the viewfinder was unnerving; when he shifted ever so slightly, instinct made me jump back.

Spiders are fascinating creatures—quiet allies lurking in the corners of our world. Jumping spiders, orbweavers… they’re strange little friends wrapped in shadows. And as you can see from a few repeated shots, settling on a “final” image is never simple. Every version tells a different story, sets a different mood. Back then, at the start of all this, all I cared about was capturing something clear and sharp. Now, looking back, two of my favorite photos hide among this gallery. Can you tell which ones they are?
